We are also researchers and scholars at the intersection of AI and conditions in the Global South. Our scholarship does not stay on the shelf: through grants, donations, and partnerships, we mobilize research into practice, from public conversation series to policy and community programming. The communities most affected by AI should be the first consulted; where no one has a seat at the table, we pull one up.
Our public series, Pull Up a Chair - AI & Our Communities, is one expression of this commitment: conversations at the intersection of global South conditions, held in the open, where scholarship and community speak with each other rather than about each other.

The Personhood under AI Framework asks the question AI systems answer about the majority world every day without ever being made to answer for it: when a system designed an ocean away makes a decision about your life, what kind of person does it think you are?
Global South lives enter these systems as isolated data points, stripped of the kinship, community, and context that our own traditions have always understood as the very substance of personhood; the whitepaper turns that relational understanding into a practical framework for designing, auditing, and governing AI with dignity and context at the centre.
It is written to be used, not shelved: an instrument for researchers, designers, and policymakers across the majority world and beyond, and the foundation for the grants, partnerships, and programming through which we move this work into practice.
